A federal jury in St. Louis, Missouri awarded twenty million dollars in compensatory damages to Plaintiff who suffered catastrophic and permanent injuries after being implanted with a metal-on-metal hip device that was never tested in humans. The jury also awarded one million dollars to Plaintiff’s husband for his loss of consortium. This twenty-one-million-dollar jury verdict is one of the largest single plaintiff compensatory jury verdicts for a defective hip in the country.
